Dear Birth Mama,
We are Tyler and Kate and we wanted to let you know about our family. Tyler and I are both 29 years old and we, along with our two beautiful kids are anxiously awaiting the Lord’s leading for a mommy to choose us as her child’s adoptive family! We are a St. Francis foster home, so our home has been inspected and approved as safe and we are both current on children’s 1st aid and CPR. We wanted to include this letter to let you know where we are coming from and what our reasons for adopting are.
In my teens I (Kate) was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure (P.O.F.). I am 29 and in menopause, on hormone replacement. Yes I know, lucky me, with the hot flashes and everything, right?! This was devastating news to me, because all I have wanted since I can remember was to be a pregnant lady with my big belly, feeling the baby move, and wondering what parts of my baby will look like me and what parts will look like Tyler. {{ It’s been a hard thing to come to terms with the fact that this will never happen. I will never look down at a child and be able to see my face…but someday I will look down at a precious little baby and see my heart. God is teaching me that this is all that matters in life! }} (these are the words I wrote so long ago. I have been updating the website and my heart just soared when I read this. This is exactly how I feel about our two children. They are my heart. My loves. I would gladly give my life and very last breath for either one of them. If there is a love deeper than this on the planet, I do not know it and don't believe it exists. I was always unsure before; how I would feel, what it would be like to love a child from another mama; it's amazing. I do not have to wonder anymore. They are as much a part of me as my own heartbeat.
Tyler and I both graduated from College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree and have both pursued careers with children and youth because that is a passion of ours. Tyler and I own our own home. It is three bedrooms with a large kitchen, dining room, one bathroom and living room. We live in a safe neighborhood and a wonderful school district.
Tyler and I both grew up in big loving families. Both of our sets of parents are still together, both celebrating 30+ years married. My family is German, so holidays are a big deal for us! It’s lots of talking and noise and food! Oh the food. J My best memories as a child all centered around the women in the kitchen preparing the feast while the kids all played outside, and then we would all come together for a huge meal where we would sit around the table talking and reminiscing for the rest of the evening. All Tyler and I have ever known is love and stability. Neither of us has ever had to deal with hunger, neglect or abuse of any kind; we have never been through the heartbreak of parents’ divorce and we are so thankful for that. We know that in this day and age, the upbringing we had is a rare experience; this is what we want to bring to our children, the same kind of love and stability that has shaped us. I believe we are giving Jonah and Mazie that kind of childhood, and we cannot wait for God to bless us with another sweet baby to spoil :)
Tyler and I are Christians, and would raise our children to know who Jesus is and the impact He has had on our lives, but should our kids get to their teens and want to make an informed decision to choose an alternate belief system or lifestyle, I would support them in whatever they choose to be, do, or believe. They would always be free to be themselves without fear of their parents turning them away because of their choices. We know that the Lord can bring their hearts back to Him if He so chooses, and we will just trust the Lord to guide our child in that difficult time.
Thank you. Thank you for making this most difficult decision and for taking the time to read about who we are. Rest assured that if you should choose us, your baby would be raised in a stable, loving home where we are committed to giving that child every opportunity we possibly can. Our baby would have 2 amazing siblings who cannot wait to "help" with a new baby. 4 spoiling grandparents, 4 doting aunts and 4 uncles who would love that baby to bits. The baby would also have 5 living great grandparents who are so thrilled that we are beginning the process of adoption. The baby would have 4 female cousins, and 3 male cousins who are so excited about a new best friend! Your baby would be safe, happy and loved in our arms; and you would be giving us an unspeakably unselfish gift that we would forever cherish as if this child had been born to us naturally. I hope this letter has given you a glimpse into the life we could offer your sweet baby. If you would like to get in touch with us or our adoption attorney, feel free to email tylerandkate08 at gmail dot com and we can set up a time to talk. Thank you so much!
